Sip, Swirl & Savor was a delicious evening benefiting the Spokane Community College Culinary Arts program and the CCS Foundation. Upon arrival at the Commons at Mukogawa Fort Wright (adjacent to the Spokane Falls Community College) attendees were greeted with a glass of bubbly prior to check-in. The warm weather allowed guests to linger in the outdoor space in front of the commons. This was a new venue for the consistently sold-out event and it proved to be a brilliant move. The weather definitely cooperated.

The decadent event began with a silent auction of inciting items, events and experiences creating a buzz of activity. The mobile bidding process was smooth with on-hand tech guides to ensure ease in the process. There was no shortage of wine and the now expected Wine Wall continued to be an hit and was sold out shortly after the doors opened. Guests continued to bid from their phones but were escorted into the venue where they enjoyed fine dining and outstanding wines.

What truly sets this event apart is the participation by the students and instructors. Sip Swirl & Savor features students from Spokane Community College’s Inland Northwest Culinary Academy working alongside professional chefs to prepare this year’s savory multi-course gourmet meal paired with fine wines from around our region. The flavors and presentation was impressive as the students created and served a delicious 5-course dinner precisely paired with outstanding wines.

Due to the past success of auctioning off a tray of specialty cocktails, this was expanded on. The cocktail frenzy featured exciting and innovative cocktails from Chef Bob Lombardi and Cocktails by Cody. Each table had the opportunity to bid on hand-crafted cocktails, which were promptly delivered to the table.

Local brewery, Perry Street Brewing Co. sampled their craft beers. An IPA and Biere De Garde were the featured beers.

The live auction executed by professional auctioneer featured outstanding items giving attendees the opportunity to take home amazing items and experiences while supporting SCC’s Inland Northwest Culinary Academy at Spokane Community College and the CCS Foundation.
